The lodges

Each with its own fire, verandah or garden

Malu is a small country hotel on an 1,800-acre private forest reserve on the eastern wall of the Great Rift Valley, ninety minutes from Nairobi.

There are six places to stay: two cottages on the hill with views across the Rift, a family villa, a treehouse on a bend of the Malewa River, and a house and cottage beside the Mahindu stream. Walk, ride and cycle all day, then come back to a log fire and a four-course dinner.
